Arsenal to win at Burnley @ Evens
Burnley finished one place above the drop zone last season and their early-season form suggests another relegation battle could be on the cards. Still without a victory this term, they suffered their third defeat in four when travelling to Everton on Monday night and they are without a win at Turf Moor since beating Aston Villa in January. Arsenal got their much-needed first goal and win against Norwich last weekend and that has eased the pressure on boss Mikel Arteta ahead of the trip to Lancashire so another Gunners win kicks off our Premier League predictions.
Liverpool to beat Crystal Palace @ 2/9
Crystal Palace enjoyed a surprise 3-0 win against Tottenham last weekend but could be in for a long afternoon at Anfield. Liverpool put nine goals past Palace without reply in the two meetings last season, having scored four in each of Palace’s two visits to Anfield before that. Jurgen Klopp opted to rest some of his key players against AC Milan in midweek and that does not bode well for Palace’s chances of causing an upset.
Man City to beat Southampton @ 1/7
The goals have been flying in at the Etihad Stadium this season, with Pep Guardiola’s side putting five past both Norwich and Arsenal in their two previous home Premier League fixtures and six past RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday. It was also a seven-goal thriller when these two clashed in March, City taking the spoils 5-2. Southampton have endured some heavy defeats in Manchester in recent years and Saturday could again be about damage limitation.
Norwich and Watford to draw @ 12/5
It’s time to bump up the odds on our Premier League acca and we think relegation favourites Norwich and Watford may cancel each other out at Carrow Road. The Canaries have won just one of their previous six meetings with the Hornets – their 4-2 home success in 2016 ultimately proving in vain as they were relegated the same night. Watford have lost three on the spin without scoring though after beating Aston Villa on the opening weekend so it is hard to make a case for either team winning this.
Everton to win at Aston Villa @ 2/1
Rafael Benitez has made an immediate impact at Goodison Park since switching allegiance to the blue side of Merseyside. His Everton side have picked up 10 points from their opening four games and only goal difference is keeping the unbeaten Toffees off the top of the table. Villa’s only win so far was against struggling Newcastle and Everton look a value pick as 2/1 underdogs to complete our Premier League predictions for Saturday.
