We’re continuing our weekly Serie A predictions with a 27/2 Sunday treble from the third round of fixtures in Italy’s top division.
Some of the most famous clubs in world football will again be battling it out for top honours and the chance to secure Champions League qualification.
Roma to beat Sassuolo @ 13/20
The Giallorossi improved on an opening 3-3 draw with Genoa at Olimpico when battling to a 1-1 stalemate at Lazio and were also busy towards the end of the European transfer window. Loan moves for Arsenal playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Manchester United defender Chris Smalling and Atletico Madrid forward Nikola Kalinic will give new boss Paulo Fonseca more options. Sassuolo went into the international break in good spirits following a 4-1 home win over Sampdoria but do not tend to travel well and were beaten 3-1 here last season.
Genoa and Atalanta to draw @ 13/5
Atalanta have been involved in a couple of five-goal thrillers so far, shading a 3-2 victory at Spal but then going down by the same scoreline when entertaining Torino. Gian Piero Gasperini will be eyeing a less-dramatic affair ahead of his side’s first ever Champions League game at Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, so may settle for a steady stalemate when visiting a Genoa side buoyed by drawing at Roma and then beating Fiorentina 2-1 at Luigi Ferraris.
Parma to beat Cagliari @ 29/20
Roberto D’Aversa will be relatively pleased with Parma’s start to the new campaign after they followed up a gutsy 1-0 loss to Juventus by coming from behind to win 3-1 at Udinese. Key forwards Gervinho and Roberto Inglese were both on target at Friuli and look set for another successful season up front. Getting Matteo Darmian in from Manchester United was another boost and they are fancied to take care of a Cagliari side which has already lost twice at home to Brescia and Inter in our Serie A predictions.
