The second night of the Premier League takes place at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Thursday.

Michael van Gerwen started the defence of his title with victory over Michael Smith while James Wade and Gerwyn Price also got their campaigns up and running.

Here are our Premier League darts predictions, which will return around £580 from a £10 stake in a five-time accumulator.

Michael Smith to beat Peter Wright @ 23/20

Smith needs a response after coming up short once again at the hands of Van Gerwen. The 29-year-old battled hard, suggesting he will not surrender easily this campaign, and won both Premier League matches against Wright 7-1 last year.

Rob Cross to draw with James Wade @ 16/5

This has all the makings to be a close game, with both players winning five matches each in their head-to-head record. Wade started with a comfortable win against Raymond van Barneveld while Cross held his nerve to claim a draw with Wright.

Raymond van Barneveld to beat Gerwyn Price @ 6/5

Barney’s final campaign started poorly, but can Price build on his first Premier League win? The Dutchman may need time to settle, but will take comfort from his record against Price, who has won only one of their six meetings.

Glen Durrant to beat Daryl Gurney @ 5/4

Chris Dobey got the ‘contenders’ off to a solid start last week with a point against Mensur Suljovic. This time it is BDO world champion Durrant’s time to shine and, having reached the final of a Players Championship this weekend, could take advantage of Gurney’s lack of confidence following a loss of form.

Michael van Gerwen to beat Mensur Suljovic @ 3/10

This should be a routine win for Van Gerwen. The Dutchman proved he is again the man to beat last week and comes up against a Suljovic, who will need to start better than he did on night one. He showed some battling qualities, fighting back from 5-1 behind to secure a draw with Dobey, which was almost a win, but Van Gerwen has won seven of their last eight games.
